Indeed, Huo Yuhao had buried everything deep in his heart, and unknowingly, hatred had transformed into resentment. He was determined to stop at nothing to avenge his mother. However, this was Shrek Academy, and he was here to become even stronger. His desire for revenge was not merely about killing, but also about comforting his mother's soul in the netherworld. He knew his mother's greatest wish, and he would fulfill it for her at all costs. Therefore, he could not risk seeking revenge now, even to defeat Dai Huabin, he would not do it. He did not want to lose his greatest dream, because if he exposed himself, he feared he would not be able to continue studying at Shrek Academy. Thus, he could only endure; he would use his own methods to exact his revenge later.
In the semifinals, Wang Dong and Huo Yuhao's opponents were from New Student Class Ten. These three Great Soul Masters all possessed peculiar Martial Souls.
Those who could overcome a series of new students and reach this round, even if not Soul Venerables, certainly possessed formidable strength.
These three Great Soul Masters were all male students, exuding a vibrant aura.
"New Student Class Ten – Zhou Sichen, Strength Attack System Battle Soul Grandmaster."
"New Student Class Ten – Long Xiangyao, Agility Attack System Battle Soul Grandmaster."
"New Student Class Ten – Cao Jinxuan, Control System Battle Soul Grandmaster."
Each powerful voice rang out, clearly expressing their confidence. Facing Huo Yuhao and Wang Dong, they showed no fear.
"New Student Class One, Huo Yuhao, Control System Battle Soul Master."
"New Student Class One, Wang Dong, Strength Attack System Battle Soul Grandmaster."
Because of Wang Dong's astonishing performance in the previous match, today's referee was a teacher around sixty years old. This teacher exuded an imposing aura; merely standing still made those around him feel oppressed. Evidently, the academy, wishing to avoid unfortunate incidents, had dispatched a powerful teacher to officiate, ready to handle any unexpected situations.
"The match begins."
As the referee teacher shouted, both sides simultaneously engaged in battle.
With only two people left, Huo Yuhao and Wang Dong could not separate. If they did not use the Hao Dong power, it was clear they would have no chance of victory in a two-on-three fight.
Their formation had now changed, with Huo Yuhao in front and Wang Dong behind. Both simultaneously released their Martial Souls. The two wings of the Goddess of Light Butterfly Martial Soul spread wide in front, slowly covering Huo Yuhao like a canopy.
Their opponents must have thoroughly studied their fighting style, especially Wang Dong's sudden burst of power yesterday afternoon, which they regarded with extreme seriousness. Therefore, from the very beginning of the match, these three gave their all, unleashing their abilities.
As an Agility Attack System Battle Soul Master, Long Xiangyao did not rush forward but quickly moved behind the Strength Attack System Battle Soul Master Zhou Sichen. The Control System Cao Jinxuan did the same, and the three formed a straight line.
Their strange Martial Souls then appeared.
A white light appeared in the hand of Strength Attack System Zhou Sichen, then transformed into a book. His dazzling yellow hundred-year Soul Ring simultaneously lit up. The pages of the book opened, and from within, two beams of light suddenly shot out, then condensed in front of him.
This was Zhou Sichen's special Tool Martial Soul: the Codex.
Normally, martial souls in the form of books are often considered废 (fèi) martial souls, very rarely capable of cultivation. But Zhou Sichen was an exception; his Martial Soul Treasure Scroll allowed him to possess innate soul power of rank seven. When his soul power reached a bottleneck, he could directly absorb the soul rings of the soul beasts he killed and transform them into his own abilities. The greatest advantage was that there were no attribute restrictions; any ability could be absorbed and utilized. In other words, he could instantly use ice soul skills, and the next moment transform them into fire soul skills. This was an extremely peculiar Tool Martial Soul.
At this moment, he used two soul skills: a golden bear and a tiger spewing raging flames.
Ever since learning about the advantages of the Martial Soul Treasure Scroll, Zhou Sichen had resolved to become a Power Attack System Battle Soul Master. Therefore, even though he could choose any type of soul beast, it was for his dream...
One bear and one tiger quickly blocked the three people, roaring as they charged towards Huo Yuhao and Wang Dong.
Behind him now was not the Agility Attack System Battle Soul Master Long Xiangyao, but the Control System Battle Soul Master Cao Jinxuan. Cao Jinxuan's gaze was extremely solemn; the light enveloping his entire body seemed to be completely distorted and warped. Even with careful observation, one couldn't clearly see anything behind it. At this moment, a small, exquisitely crafted clock appeared above his head.
The clock was shaped like a city gate, round at the top and flat at the bottom, approximately half a meter tall, and white. Inside the clock face was a circle, with a layer of golden patterns carved below, flickering continuously. And as Cao Jinxuan's two hundred-year soul rings appeared, this clock seemed to become a part of his body.
Zhou Sichen's Martial Soul Treasure Scroll was rare, but Cao Jinxuan's Martial Soul Clock was even rarer. His martial soul was called Light Contamination Bell. Among Tool Martial Souls, its rarity was no less than Wang Dong's Goddess of Light Butterfly among Beast Martial Souls.
The three simultaneously activated their skills, naturally not without Long Xiangyao. He maintained a certain distance from Cao Jinxuan, but all three remained in a straight line as before. Though an Agility Attack System Battle Soul Master, his martial soul was also a Tool Martial Soul. After he released his martial soul, a large Spinning Dart appeared in his hand. This weapon was over a chi long, truly unbalanced for the twelve-year-old Long Xiangyao.
As the Spinning Dart appeared in his hand, he slightly reduced his speed, rotated half a turn backward, then powerfully threw it out. The moment he made his move, both soul rings on his body lit up.
However, the moment he made his move, his expression changed, because everything was somewhat inconsistent with his judgment...
Their team's formation was clearly designed specifically to deal with Huo Yuhao and Wang Dong, so how could they be so indifferent and unconcerned?
But, in fact, among the five people on the arena, the first to release a soul skill was Huo Yuhao.
When he saw the opponents instantly line up in a row, he knew that the method from the previous match could no longer be used. Furthermore, no matter who the opponent was, he would first release Spiritual Detection Sharing. This was a soul skill that opponents could not perceive, and it could provide a lot of help to him and Wang Dong.
Therefore, just as the Agility Attack System Battle Soul Master Long Xiangyao released his Spinning Dart, he was also hit by Huo Yuhao's Spiritual Interference skill.
Soul Interference was much weaker than Soul Shock, so Wang Dong didn't realize that Huo Yuhao had used a skill. To catch the opponent by surprise, Huo Yuhao concealed himself very well. Before Wang Dong could coordinate his soul power to use Hao Dong power, Huo Yuhao directly launched his attack.
As soon as Spiritual Interference was unleashed, the three opponents' minds instantly became hazy. At that very moment, Wang Dong's Goddess of Light Butterfly closed, protecting Huo Yuhao within.
The Spinning Disc, augmented by two soul skills, flew in an incredibly beautiful arc, striking directly towards Wang Dong and Huo Yuhao, but the two remained motionless.
If Wang Dong was the main attacker in the previous match, this match was completely the opposite.
Just as the Spinning Disc reached the two of them, Huo Yuhao's eyes blazed with purple and gold light.
Cao Jinxuan, standing behind Zhou Sichen, suddenly shrieked and fell unconscious before he could even activate his soul skill.
Having gained experience, Huo Yuhao controlled his Hao Dong power quite well this time. The Soul Shock just now only rendered Cao Jinxuan unconscious without causing him any harm.
Cao Jinxuan's martial soul was very special, and he was a Control-type Battle Soul Master, so Huo Yuhao considered him the most dangerous opponent among the three. Therefore, as soon as the match began, Huo Yuhao spared no Hao Dong power in attacking him. Huo Yuhao believed that not every Soul Master possessed a powerful mental defense martial soul. The truth was exactly as Huo Yuhao predicted; Cao Jinxuan, caught off guard by Huo Yuhao's attack, immediately fell unconscious.
Whoosh…
The Spinning Disc flew past Wang Dong by a foot. At this moment, Wang Dong was instantly startled. Although he didn't know what soul skill Long Xiangyao used to augment the Spinning Disc, from the power emitted by the Spinning Disc as it flew past, Wang Dong could feel that it would be very difficult for him to withstand this attack without any injury.
Zhou Sichen immediately turned his head and gasped in surprise. He was at the front, taking the brunt of the attack, but Cao Jinxuan behind him was knocked unconscious without him even realizing it. How did the opponent do it? Zhou Sichen didn't expect Huo Yuhao to possess such a terrifying martial soul. As long as he was within the range of Spiritual Detection, the opponent couldn't hide.
But as the team captain, Zhou Sichen immediately regained his composure. He knew he had to act immediately. Zhou Sichen let out a soft cry, and a bear and a tiger immediately charged towards Huo Yuhao and Wang Dong.
The Spinning Disc next to Wang Dong also disappeared and reappeared in Long Xiangyao's hand.
Long Xiangyao concentrated his mind, urged his full body's soul power, and launched the Spinning Disc outwards.
Huo Yuhao currently only had one soul ring, and he didn't want to reveal his ultimate skill, Spiritual Interference. Moreover, in a situation where the opponent was already prepared, the chance of successfully using Soul Interference was very low. At this moment, Huo Yuhao was the target of the Spinning Disc.
This was Zhou Sichen's plan. From previous matches, they had vaguely guessed the importance of this Soul Master with only one soul ring in the group. So, as soon as Long Xiangyao attacked, he put all his effort into attacking Huo Yuhao. As long as the referee determined that Huo Yuhao could not withstand or evade his attack, Huo Yuhao would be considered defeated. At that point, it would be three against Wang Dong alone, and their chances of winning would be very high.
But at this moment, Huo Yuhao paid no attention to the Spinning Disc. The purple and gold light in his eyes blazed again. This time, Huo Yuhao's target was Zhou Sichen.
Previously, because Cao Jinxuan suddenly fainted, Zhou Sichen had been on alert. At this moment, he and Long Xiangyao both made the same move: they channeled all their soul power to protect their minds, guarding against Huo Yuhao's soul skill attacking their spirits.
But he miscalculated. At this moment, Huo Yuhao and Wang Dong were using Hao Dong Power in combination. The power of Huo Yuhao's Soul Skill, Spiritual Shock, was equivalent to a blow from a Soul Venerable, making it extremely difficult to defend against.
As soon as Huo Yuhao's eyes blazed, Zhou Sichen recoiled as if he had suffered a powerful blow.
With the aid of Spiritual Detection, Huo Yuhao knew that Zhou Sichen was on guard, so this strike from Huo Yuhao was delivered with full force.
Zhou Sichen clearly understood his opponent's intention but could not stop it. Fortunately, the defensive capabilities of strong-attack type Battle Soul Masters were very powerful, so Huo Yuhao's previous strike only managed to daze him. But as Zhou Sichen recoiled, his two soul skills also lost control.
"Teacher, help!"
Immediately after using Spiritual Shock, Huo Yuhao shouted.
The Revolving Dart had already reached Huo Yuhao. At this moment, Wang Dong no longer continued to protect Huo Yuhao but instead spread his wings wide, gathered his soul power, and used Divine Light. At this point, the Hao Dong Power, after circling Huo Yuhao's body, had also returned to Wang Dong's body.
The supervising teacher heard Huo Yuhao's cry and immediately acted. According to the rules of the assessment, when a disciple fighting calls for help, it means he has conceded defeat, and the opponent cannot continue to attack.
A figure suddenly appeared and caught the Revolving Dart. Since Huo Yuhao had conceded defeat at this moment, the supervising teacher blocked Long Xiangyao's attack on his behalf.
Just then, Wang Dong's Divine Light erupted.
When he cried for help, Huo Yuhao had dropped his guard and retracted his martial soul. At that time, he transferred all the Hao Dong Power in his body to Wang Dong.
Golden light once again enveloped the entire arena.
The teacher who had just blocked the Revolving Dart had to act again. This teacher produced a giant umbrella, its surface spreading wide to block the attack of the Divine Light. At this moment, Zhou Sichen was still dazed, and Long Xiangyao had not yet retracted his Revolving Dart, so they certainly could not withstand this blow from Wang Dong.
Huo Yuhao's team continued to win and advanced directly to the finals!
