Seeing the auction was about to end, Xiao Yan found an excuse to leave.
Carefully leaving the auction hall, then strolling a few times around a nearby intersection, Xiao Yan only then slipped into a small alley, conveniently draped a black robe over himself, after which he calmly and slowly walked into the auction hall.
Ever since learning that Xiao Yan was a fourth-grade alchemist, Ya Fei had arranged for her people to pay attention in the center of the auction house. So this time, as soon as Xiao Yan entered, a graceful maid immediately respectfully led him into the reception room.
Silently, without a word, Xiao Yan sat on a chair. Holding a teacup, he took a small sip, then glanced at the girl beside him and nodded slightly. His mouth barely moved as a faint, aged voice transmitted: "How much longer until the auction ends?"
"Ah?" Startled by the sudden faint sound, the young girl, with quick eyes, secretly glanced at Xiao Yan, whose entire body was enveloped in a black robe. Her hands clenched tightly, and her small face showed a hint of apprehension as she softly said: "Your Excellency, the auction has already concluded. Miss Ya Fei is currently with everyone handling the handover procedures."
Seeing the young girl's anxious demeanor, like a small rabbit, Xiao Yan couldn't help but feel a little perplexed. "Am I really that scary?" He helplessly shook his head. "I must continue to maintain this silent state."
Standing with her head bowed to one side, the young girl didn't see Xiao Yan speak again and silently let out a sigh of relief inwardly. When she had accepted the task, Master Gu Ni had solemnly warned her that she must absolutely satisfy this mysterious Excellency, sparing no effort or condition, even if the request was a bit excessive.
Having worked at the auction house for nearly a year, this young girl naturally understood what "excessive request" implied. So every time Xiao Yan opened his mouth, she would tremble with fear, afraid that this mysterious Excellency would propose such a request...
After the young girl endured nearly ten minutes of tense waiting, the hurried footsteps outside the door finally made her breathe a sigh of relief.
"Ah, ah, old sir, you've arrived quite early! Please forgive us if the reception was not up to par." Slowly walking into the reception room, Ya Fei's slender waist swayed gently like a water snake, exuding a captivating charm. Coupled with her voluptuous figure, she made men without strong self-control almost feel a surge of passionate fire in their hearts.
"Vixen..." he cursed inwardly. Xiao Yan subtly shifted his body backward and lightly nodded.
Seeing Xiao Yan nod, the young girl beside him once again let out a soft breath, respectfully bowed slightly, and hastily retreated outside.
Seeing that Xiao Yan still hadn't shown any signs of dissatisfaction, Ya Fei only then felt relieved. She smiled at him, a naturally enchanting smile.
He gave a faint, weak smile. Facing this "fox spirit," Xiao Yan truly dared not delay. He gently stroked the black ring and hastily yielded the right to speak to Yao Lao.
"Has the auction concluded?"
"En." She chuckled softly, revealing her pearly white teeth. Ya Fei gently raised her hand, revealing a pale green jade card in her hand, and smiled, saying: "Old sir, the seven bottles of Foundation Elixir were auctioned for a total of two hundred eighty-five thousand gold coins. After deducting the tax, all the remaining gold coins are in here."
Reaching out to accept the green jade card, holding it, he felt a comfortable coolness, clearly a luxurious item. Gently stroking the jade card, Xiao Yan nodded.
Looking at that fair and tender hand, like a young man's, a strange feeling arose in Ya Fei's heart.
"This price has exceeded expectations, I am very satisfied..."
The aged voice rang out, making Ya Fei smile happily, chasing away the strange feeling in her heart. She gently pursed her rosy lips and chuckled softly, then calmly said, "In the future, esteemed elder, if you still need to sell any elixirs, please come to the Thacker Auction House. We will strive to get you the best price."
"I need medicinal ingredients, can you find them?" Nodding his head, Xiao Yan received the jade card. After a slight hesitation, Yao Lao immediately spoke up to inquire.
Her long, narrow beautiful eyes curved slightly, revealing their charm. Ya Fei smiled and spoke softly and sweetly, causing a slight pleasant surprise in Xiao Yan's heart.
"Ah, ah, esteemed elder, it is natural for our auction house to exert its full strength to fulfill your request."
Ya Fei clapped her hands lightly. Gu Ni personally brought out a jade tray and quickly entered, then stopped beside Xiao Yan, bowed slightly, carefully placed the jade tray on the table, and said with a smile, "My lord, all the medicinal ingredients you need are here."
Xiao Yan looked at the medicinal ingredients on the jade tray beside him, his eyes filled with a hint of joy. The Thacker Auction House indeed possessed considerable capability. If he had to search for these medicinal ingredients himself, he would likely expend no small amount of effort and time, but this auction house had found all the medicinal ingredients in just one day, which truly made Xiao Yan quite delighted.
"Mm, troublesome..." Seeing all the medicinal ingredients for refining the Qi Gathering Powder in hand, Yao Lao's faint voice rang out, carrying a hint of gentleness.
Having worked in the auction house for many years, Ya Fei naturally discerned that Yao Lao's voice had become much softer, and immediately felt joyful in her heart. This transaction truly wasn't a mistake!
"I won't take advantage of you. Deduct the cost of these medicinal ingredients from this jade card."
Seeing Xiao Yan about to take out the jade card, Ya Fei hurriedly said with a smile, "Esteemed elder, we acquired these medicinal ingredients internally, and their price is much cheaper than outside. Your two visits to our auction house have brought us considerable renown. With just that, how could we dare to accept payment?"
"Very well, as you wish. In the future, if you need medicinal ingredients, I will exchange them with Foundation Establishment Spiritual Liquid." Nodding his head, astute as Yao Lao was, he naturally understood that she wanted to establish a relationship and immediately had to respond in kind. A look of pleasant surprise flashed in Ya Fei's eyes. She carefully took out the medicinal ingredients from the jade tray, then carefully put the jade tray away.
"Very well, I still have matters to attend to, so I cannot stay long."
Seeing that the medicinal ingredients had been acquired, Xiao Yan stood up, waved his sleeve, and walked straight out.
"Esteemed elder, Ya Fei bids you farewell." Ya Fei and Gu Ni exchanged a glance; both quickly stepped forward, eagerly leading the way.
At the Thacker Auction House, two managers respectfully led the way, one in front and one behind. Xiao Yan walked out of the reception room and slowly walked with his head held high.
Stepping out of the reception room, opposite was the auction hall. Xiao Yan's gaze swept over the crowd within, and he couldn't help but feel a little guilty. He subtly pulled up his cloak, discovering that among the crowd who had just finished their transactions was his father, Xiao Zhan.
"Please, please don't come here..." Xiao Yan secretly prayed in his heart.
